Health & Safety Network: Connecting leaders to strengthen safety performance
Our Health & Safety Network meets monthly, bringing together leaders from across all sectors and regions to review performance, share lessons learned and drive a consistent Group-wide approach. We review LTIFR, lost time incidents, minor injuries and potential hazard reporting, identifying trends and focusing on areas of highest risk. The Network reinforces accountability at business level and supports continuous improvement through shared best practice. In the past year, hazard reporting has increased significantly, reflecting stronger engagement and transparency across our sites.
Raising the bar through independent safety audits
Our independent SML audit programme provides structured, external assurance of health and safety standards across our sites. Each audit assesses governance, risk management, training, operational controls and leadership engagement, generating clear, prioritised actions. Since launching the programme, average audit scores have improved year on year, with more sites now exceeding our internal performance benchmark. Actions are tracked through our online portal with defined deadlines, ensuring accountability and timely closure. Re-audits and higher-risk site reviews help us maintain focus on continuous improvement.
Turning safety into everyday action
Stand Up for Safety is our Group-wide safety culture programme, designed to embed consistent standards and clear accountability across all businesses. It combines leadership commitment, structured protocols and practical tools, including our online reporting platform for incidents and near misses. Through safety stand-downs, targeted training and visible communications, we encourage everyone to “See it, Say it, Report it.” Increased hazard reporting and improved audit outcomes demonstrate growing engagement and a stronger culture of shared responsibility for preventing harm.
Golden Rules: Setting clear rules to prevent serious harm
Our Golden Rules define the non-negotiable behaviours required to prevent serious harm. Focused on critical risks such as machinery safety, contractor management, workplace transport and safe manual handling, they apply to every site and every colleague. The rules are supported by Group-wide standards, mandatory training and clear escalation protocols for lost time incidents. By simplifying expectations and reinforcing accountability, we strengthen compliance and reduce risk. Performance against these critical risk areas is monitored through audits, incident data and leadership reviews.

Our supply chain is central to how we deliver consistent value for our customers and stakeholders. We are committed to partnering with suppliers who share our commitment to ethical, environmental and social standards, and to strengthening resilience and transparency throughout our value chain. Through our Supplier Code and engagement activities, we work collaboratively to raise standards, support decarbonisation efforts and deliver long-term, sustainable outcomes that benefit people, communities and business performance.

Raising standards through a strengthened Supplier Code
We have enhanced our Supplier Code of Conduct to set clear, consistent expectations across our global supply base. The Code covers ethical business practices, human rights, labour standards, health and safety, environmental management and anti-bribery and corruption. It reinforces our commitment to responsible sourcing and transparent governance. By embedding these requirements into supplier onboarding and ongoing engagement, we strengthen accountability, manage risk proactively and support long-term, sustainable value creation across our supply chain.
Driving supplier transparency through EcoVadis
We began implementing EcoVadis in 2025 as part of our structured approach to strengthening supply chain sustainability. EcoVadis provides an independent assessment across environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. This initial phase focuses on engaging key suppliers and building transparency across priority spend categories. We will progressively expand the programme, with the objective that all key suppliers are invited to participate by the end of 2027, driving measurable improvement across our value chain.
