CAREER AND DEVELOPMENT

We're a fast-growing, high-performing and diverse group where you're empowered to take ownership, make decisions and create meaningful impact.

With a lean, decentralised structure and fewer layers, responsibility comes early. You'll gain broad exposure across the group, develop quickly and build real leadership capability from the outset.

As we continue to grow, new opportunities emerge — from stepping into larger roles and leading strategic initiatives to working overseas. Our international footprint enables you to gain global experience while accelerating your professional growth.

If you’re ambitious, accountable, and motivated by results, you’ll find the opportunity to progress here.

Developing our leaders

Strong leadership is the engine of Diploma’s growth. In a lean, decentralised group, our Managing Directors bring strategy to life in their markets, empower their teams and ensure our businesses remain agile and entrepreneurial.

We host annual leadership events that bring together business leaders from across the Group to share ideas, strengthen networks and learn from one another - reinforcing a culture of collaboration and continuous development.

I began my Diploma career in the finance team at our London HQ and am now based in Australia, overseeing the finance function of one of our operating businesses. This reflects the organisation’s approach to developing talent, trusting people with real responsibility, and providing early exposure to senior leaders in a lean HQ environment. It is a business where you can build a long-term career, and one I have really valued being part of.

We’re proud to be part of Diploma PLC for many reasons, and one of the best is how we develop talent across our businesses. We encourage and support people to think big, collaborate and get stuff done.

Early careers

We invest in future talent through a range of apprenticeships across our businesses.

In 2025, we launched our first graduate programme in the US and UK - creating new pathways for ambitious individuals to accelerate their career with us.

Interested in our graduate programme?

What stood out most after joining Diploma was how much ownership I was given from day one. You’re encouraged to bring ideas, take initiative and shape your own development. For graduates who want real responsibility early on, it’s an environment where you can move quickly and build a meaningful career.

I joined M Seals as an apprentice many years ago, and the chance to grow, lead, and make a real difference is what’s kept me here. I’m ambitious about where we can take the business, but I’m most motivated by delivering real value for our customers and our people - because when you invest in people, the results speak for themselves.

There’s no better place to grow than with a growing business. At Hercules OEM, if you’re an engineer you’re in front of customers and you get to see new opportunities to grow the business which also means you get to grow and develop too.
